Last weekend, Thai Airways American Express Platinum Credit Card organised an exclusive three-day trip, "A Dream Journey to Cultural Luxury", to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the privilege card among their loyal customers at Veranda Chiang Mai.

On the first day of the event, participants were greeted with a Salor, Sor and Seung show, traditional instruments used in Northern style music, performed by students from Ban Pong school at the lobby of the hotel, which provided a warm welcome accustomed to Northern hospitality.

Amid the evergreen landscape of Doi Suthep mountain, exclusive guests of American Express were tantalised with delicious canape's and cocktails and a cigar session overlooking the signature view of Veranda's pool.

The following day started bright and early with a yoga session at the Temple Pavilion. The rest of the morning provided an opportunity for guests to unwind at the spa.

Fully invigorated, guests bubbled with laughter and smiles that filled the resort the whole afternoon as they joined various workshops featuring Northern culture-related activities from painting mulberry paper umbrellas, Chiang Mai's well-known souvenir, to making tung, a traditional Northern Thai style flag, which can be seen all over the region.

The highlight of the celebration party was set at the Rabiang Cha restaurant where guests were served Lanna-style food while serenaded by a violinist and traditional dance performances by students from Suksa Songkroh Mae Chan school.

Before the night ended, the students came on-stage once again to receive a scholarship from the vice-president of American Express Thailand, Anakkawat Kowatthanakul.

In a farewell gesture, representatives from American Express Thailand and Thai Airways International came together on-stage to release traditional Northern lanterns into the sky to symbolise the shining future of the continued partnership between the two corporations.
