There is some rather upscale tourist accommodation to be found on the southeastern tip of Phuket, and the Cape Panwa Hotel is one of the original establishments.
Located on the eastern side of the cape, behind a hill that separates this well-maintained property from the public road, the hotel enjoys privileged access to a peaceful beach that is otherwise only accessible by boat.
Recently, I checked in for a night at one of its six pool villas. I also tried a massage treatment at the hotel's Cape Spa which helped relieve much of the tension in my back caused by the long road trip from Bangkok.
