The luxury 24-hour concierge service from the UK, Quintessentially (Q), pulled out all the stops for its elegant and flamboyant party to celebrate its first anniversary at The Oriental's Royal Ballroom. Flying in to take part in the event was Q co-founder Ben Elliot. Guests were thrilled by an exclusive appearance by British pop vocalist Martina Topley Bird in a mini-concert that drew attention to her latest album, The Blue God.
Guest were drawn from among Thailand's finest A-listers who would potentially be Q customers, if they are not already on the list, since Q has a policy of total discretion. "Accessing the inaccessible" is the name of the game, according to Elliot, who introduced this ultra-exclusive service where members can call in 24/7 to request practically anything that money can buy - "except anything illegal or immoral" noted Elliot.
Among the international celebrity members are Sir Richard Branson, Sir Elton John, Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez, J. K. Rowling, Madonna and Kate Moss.
Also on hand to provide entertainment was JZ Gorillaz.
Nothing but the best for Q guests, and the cocktail menu comprised ingredients specially flown in for creations including Mexican avocado milkshake with sea crab and Spanish piquillo caviar, prime grain-fed beef and air-dried Swiss Bundner beef pralines with black mushroom aspic, black ink fettuccine with white asparagus beurre blanc and smoked royal sea bream flacks, steamed lobster chawan mushi gratinated with frothy shell fish bisque, Russian borscht soup with Cherry Valley duck confit and shrimp roe sour cream and much more.
To complement the feast for the palate was a feast for the eyes, with a display of unique objets d'art and luxury jewellery and home decor items from Lotus Arts de Vivre.
