Samsung last week introduced its new F480 touch screen mobile phone featuring the company's TouchWiz UI and a 2.8in. QVGA LCD screen that promptly responds to the touch of a fingertip.

With a slim 11.6mm body, the phone boasts a five megapixel camera and targets tech-savvy business people and consumers.

Thai Samsung Telecommunication Business Group Leader Manop Maneechawakajone noted that touch screen phones had already become a new trend and Samsung had responded to this with the introduction of the Samsung F480, featuring quick and easy-to-use functions.

With the new TouchWiz user interface as a highlight, the 2.8in. screen offers ease of use and control with a touch of your fingertips, he said.

The 11.6mm slim, credit-card sized F480 comes with a quick and simple drag-and-drop feature that gives users instant access to their favourite functions at a single touch.

It also houses Samsung's exclusive TouchWiz UI that allows users to customise and personalise objects on their home screens to suit their personal preference.

The F480 also has a five megapixel camera featuring face detection, auto focus, CMOS sensor and high-end features, an integrated music player and FM radio, 240MB of internal memory, and support for SD cards up to 8GB.

The phone integrates HSDPA (7.2Mbps) connectivity for a 3G network environment that enables users to enjoy high speed Internet access on the move as well as mobile blogging.

The touch screen allows a switch between portrait and landscape mode.

The Samsung F480 is available for 16,500 baht, which includes a 4GB memory card.
