Din & Tonics, Harvard University's very own a cappella ensemble, returns to Bangkok for two performances at Siam City Hotel on Aug 1-2 at 8:30pm.
Primarily performing jazz standards, but also throwing in a bit of gospel and calypso, the Dins continue to delight audiences by combining the traditional with the unexpected. They consistently add original and humorous choreography, performing a cappella "with a twist".
Established in 1979, the Dins have garnered a world-famous reputation, selling out concerts across the US and around the world. This year alone, the group performed at Fenway Park for the Red Sox vs Yankees, welcomed Andy Garcia to Harvard, recorded an album in the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, and performed for jazz legend Herbie Hancock.
Celebrating their 10th biennial world tour, Thailand is just one of the many countries the Dins will visit to share their versatile repertoire before returning to America.
Tickets cost 1,300 baht (1,100 baht for students), including a pre-show dinner package at Patummat Restaurant. Tickets just for the show cost 450 baht (200 baht for students). For reservations, call 02-247-0123 ext 1928.
