Wading through the water in his parents' paddy fields in Ban Mi district, Lop Buri, in search of fish, crabs and shrimps was how Prof Somsak Panha spent much of his childhood. But unlike most other boys, whose only interest would be to eat what they found, Somsak examined every detail of the animals he caught to figure out their differences.
Tomorrow, from 9:30am to noon, Chulalongkorn University will host a public forum on the theme of "Crisis, Brinkmanship and Stalemate: What Next for Thailand?"The programme will start at 9:30am with a panel discussion. Invited speakers are Supavud Saicheua, managing director and head of research, Phatra Securities PCL; Asst Prof Siripan Nogsuan, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University; Jade Donavanik, independent scholar; and Assoc Prof Dr Thitinan Pongsudhirak, director of the Institute of Security and International Studies (ISIS), Chulalongkorn University. The moderator will be Assoc Prof Dr Ake Tangsupvattana, an ISIS executive board member. An open discussion will follow suit.
