Euro2008 news update

An NBA star and a former WNBA player joined a basketball camp to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Thai-US relations at Indoor Stadium, Hua Mark yesterday.

The basketball clinic was led by Orlando Magic star Pat Garrity and former New York Liberty player Kym Hampton. The event was presided over by US Ambassador Eric G John.

''I'm delighted to be here this afternoon with all of you and NBA/WNBA sports envoys Pat Garrity and Kym Hampton,'' he said. ''There about 120 boys and girls from all over Thailand, aged between 13 and 15, who are participating in this 175th Anniversary Thai-US Friendship Basketball Camp.''

Garrity and Hampton will give Thai coaches and players tips about leadership and teamwork.

They will also play a Thai-US friendship game which features the Thai national team players and local celebrities as well as the ambassador himself on Thursday.
