Samsung launched over 20 new mobile phones at Thailand Mobile Expo 2008. The line-up is headed by its Innov8 Symbian-based smartphone with packs an eight megapixel digital camera.
The Innov8 is based on Symbian 9.3 and has many features usually only found in cameras such as a smile-shot, panoramic shot, retouching and a 9x digital zoom. The high end phone's casing is made from aerospace-quality duralinium. It also features GPS and assisted GPS.
Also on show at Thailand Mobile Expo was Sumsung's i900 Omnia and F480 touch-screen phones and the L700 phone with a camera with flash, FM radio, 3G and the ability to use 8GB of external storage.
Samsung predicted that it would sell 15 million baht worth of phones at Mobile Expo 2008, and has set a target of 20 per cent market share - two million units - for the year.
