Queen worried for injured

Her Majesty the Queen has expressed concern over the condition of people injured in the violent clashes between the People's Alliance for Democracy and the police yesterday.

She has bestowed a 100,000-baht aid fund for the injured admitted to Vajira hospital after the first clash erupted in front of parliament at around 6.30am.

Vajira hospital director Wanchai Charoenchokthawee said Thanpuying Charungchit Dhikara, Her Majesty's deputy private secretary, had conveyed the Queen's message to him shortly after the incident.

"Her Majesty asked about the condition of the injured and requested the medical staff take the best care of them," he said.

Her Majesty also accepted those wounded in the confrontations as patients under the royal patronage, Dr Wanchai said.

"The patients and doctors feel gratitude over Her Majesty's concern and the hospital staff will do its best to treat the injured people," he added.
