| Manop: Slight injuries |
The Bangkok Post's parliamentary beat reporter, Manop Thip-osod, suffered injuries to his hand when police fired tear gas at People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) demonstrators yesterday.
Mr Manop suffered injuries to the back of his left hand, rib cage and thighs from the force of the tear gas explosions.
A medical team pulled him out of harm's way and tended to his wounds on the side of the road.
Pitinon Kansarn, a reporter for the Jor Sor 100 traffic news radio station, was also wounded after a tear gas shell hit him in his back while he was covering the news outside parliament, the scene of the riot, yesterday.
He sustained severe burns and scrapes and was taken to hospital.
The Thai Journalists Association yesterday issued a statement asking that reporters on the ground exercise the utmost caution and care while covering their stories.
