Lowe Limited, a local advertising agency, is raising its profile in the local advertising scene after winning prestigious international awards to attract clients and talented ad people, according to CEO Tony Prehn.
This year has been successful for the local office of the London-based advertising agency of the same name, having won 49 awards, including five _ two sold and silver each, and one bronze _ at the Cannes Lions, considered the Oscars of the industry, last month.
Clinton Manson and Dominic Stallard's work for Unilever won the company two golds at Cannes.
The award was for their innovative direct-mail campaign for Breeze Excel detergent. The Ogawa Ventilating Fan campaign by art director Porakit Tanwattana and his team scored two silvers in the print and outdoor category.
Mr Prehn said the awards helped enhance the company's reputation, enabling it to attract more clients and talent including creative professionals and photographers to work with the agency.
Like ad and communications agencies, companies want their ads to win awards and have been looking for creative agencies, according to Mr Prehn.
Supon Khaotong, executive director at Lowe Thailand, said the awards won so far this year reflected the growing creativity of the Bangkok office.
Lowe Thailand is one of the Lowe network's eight global hubs, overseeing the Southeast Asia region.
Mr Prehn said that although Thailand's ad industry would likely be flat this year, the company's revenues had already reached the 10% growth target in the first half of the year. As a result, it is confident it will reach the 10-15% target for the whole year.
The reason behind the healthy growth was the wide variety of clients, said the company.
Although some firms have cut their ad spending in face of the sluggish economy, many others have maintained spending levels.
The company have won nine clients this year including the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat), Thailand Post, the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and Wall's ice-cream.
