Romrawin Skin & Laser Clinic Co plans to spend at least 100 million baht building a new cosmetics and skin-care factory in Bangkok this year. The move would support the company's future expansion into skin care and cosmetics products to sell both locally and internationally.
Managing director Kwanruthai Damrongwattanapokin said construction of the cosmetics factory would start this year on a five-rai plot in Bangkok and would be due to finish in the first quarter of next year. The products would serve its skin and laser clinics, its franchise in Vietnam and its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) business in the future.
''With our 20 years of experience in dealing with international cosmetic firms, we have learned a lot about product sourcing and see huge potential in building our own cosmetic and skin-care brand,'' Ms Kwanruthai said.
Romrawin has shifted from producing packages for cosmetic firms to operating a skin and laser clinic in the past five years. It has 17 Romrawin clinics, 15 of them in Bangkok and two upcountry, with three more to open by year-end.
The company recently introduced Ramida, a beauty centre for teenagers at Siam Square and Tesco Lotus Salaya in Nakhon Pathom province. Price sat Ramida would be about 50% lower than at its original Romrawin locations.
The company is also conducting a feasibility study to expand into beauty-related businesses such as hair-care products and food supplements.
