Re-elected Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayodhin yesterday appointed his deputies and assistants for his second term.
Mr Apirak, of the Democrat party, will be aided by four deputies, a secretary to the governor, a Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) spokeswoman and a team of nine advisers.
Former deputy governor Wallop Suwandee will be in charge of the education, traffic and city law enforcement administration. Another deputy governor, Sukit Kongtoranin, who is his former secretary, will supervise budgeting, finance, culture, tourism and sports issues.
Prakob Jeerakitti, a Democrat party-list MP, was appointed deputy governor to oversee the Public Works Department and the Drainage and Sewerage Department, while Democrat list MP Malinee Sukvejvorakij was appointed deputy governor for medical and social development affairs.
Jittichai Saengthong was made the new secretary to the governor and Karndi Leophairote was appointed spokeswoman for the BMA.
Mr Apirak said his administration would abide by the 12-year Bangkok development plan, running from next year until 2020, and continue the Bus Rapid Transit project.
