Palace worker's death plunge

Girlfriend witnesses jump from window

An employee at the palace leaped to his death yesterday after complaining of being over-stressed at work. Thissadee Chaisukumarn, 32, plunged from the window of his third-floor flat in Charan Sanitwong Soi 40 in Bang Phlat district, according to his girlfriend, Saijai Suthiwat.

Thissadee, who worked at the Royal Household Bureau, suffered a broken skull and neck.

Ms Saijai said she had tried to contact Thissadee for three days, but he did not return her calls. When he finally turned up yesterday, he appeared very stressed.

She said he told her his supervisor had bullied him and he felt left out at the office.

Thissadee talked to his mother on the phone for a while and after he hung up, he grabbed a knife and tried to stab himself, Ms Saijai said.

She managed to take the knife from him, but he pushed her away and jumped out of the window to his death.

Forensic experts were examining the body yesterday.
