It was a night full of glitter - and laughter - at the Aksra Theatre last Wednesday as jewellery designer and entrepreneur Chuchai Chairitthilert brought out big names in the entertainment industry to showcase his new line of work.
The owner of Gemplace turned the theatre at King Power Complex into a concert hall full of professionals who took turns entertaining guests non-stop.
Entitled "2C-C2-2G", the party began with actor and radio deejay Krit Sripoomseth welcoming guests to the first show of the night - a Thai boxing show featuring hypnotic music and dance rituals.
Why a boxing show? Chuchai explained that he is launching two new brands: C2 by Chuchai, for the young and fashionable; and CC, stylish designs at affordable prices.

"The theme of tonight's show will be a battle between two brands," he said.
After sweet crooning by singer/actress Marsha Watthanapanich, the battle came in a form of duels between young celebrities in the entertainment industry, with comedians Sena Ling and Koh Tee as moderators with Ornanpa Krisadee, Yanee Jongwisuth and Methanee Buranasiri, all known for their wit and sharp tongues, as commentators.
At the mercy of the commentator's hilarious and often cruel comments were a group of young stars including Yardthip Rajpal, Peerapol Euariyakul, Santi "Stephan" Veerabunchai, Araya Hargate, Mario Maurer and Apinya Sakulcharoensuk, who sang, danced and acted to win the commentators' approval.
In between the star duels, breaks were enlivened by a performance from savvy country singer Arpaporn Nakhonsawan. Wrapping up the battle was a fight between former world champion boxer Kaosai Galaxy and the winner of the reality TV show The Contender Asia, Yodsaenklai Fairtex.
After satisfying his guests with fun and laughter, Chuchai treated them to a fashion show by celebrities and special guests including Karnjanaporn Plodpai, Duangdao Jarujinda, Pasaweepitch Sornakkharapha, Sarunthorn Taechaphaibul, Sutasanee Kunplin, Nat Thephasdin Na Ayudhya, Karun Sosothikul, Saranyu Prachakit and Supi Pongpanich.
After the the finale, celebrity hairdresser Somsak Chalachol glided onto the stage wearing a dazzling diamond mask amid the soundtrack from Phantom of the Opera, Chuchai came on-stage to give donations to the Muay Thai Institute. The night was capped off with Chuchai's masterpiece, a 500-million-baht diamond-studded jockstrap, worn by male model Sam Chotiban - which unleashed non-stop camera flashes and screams.
