DC reorganising

MEDIA :DC Consultants and Marketing Communications has reorganised its corporate structure to respond to the continuing growth of public relations and marketing consultancy business.

The company has appointed five new chief officers including Ratchada Pasunta (chief communications officer), Pimpakarn Chaisung (international business), Natee Sastyoungkul (branding), Pinit Ngarmpring (strategy) and Dr Wit Sittivaekin (marketing). It also appointed Bernie Cooper as chief editor as well.

Baralee Intararut is chief operations officer and Athuk Pramoj na Ayuddhya the executive director.

CEO Danai Chanchaochai said that although Thailand had seen economic stagnation and political instability, the local PR business showed the potential to grow 15% this year.

"Most organisations turn to public relations as their flagship tool to build the brand, employing strategies like corporate governance and corporate social responsibility," he added.

Rubber prices fall

COMMODITIES :Natural rubber futures in Tokyo fell yesterday for a fifth time in six days amid expectations output will increase in Thailand.

The most-active contract for rubber has declined 3.5% since touching a 28-year high last month. The increase in Thai rubber output expected in May following the dry season was delayed this year by cool weather.

"The supply side seems to be improving gradually, especially for Thailand," said Felix Yeo, a trader at Marubeni International Commodities (Singapore) Pte. Further declines may be limited as stockpiles in China are low and demand high, he said.

Rubber for December delivery fell 0.6% to 344.4 yen a kilogramme ($3,233 a tonne) on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange. BLOOMBERG Gecal debt matures FINANCE :Tris Rating has cancelled the AAA/stable rating of GE Capital Auto Lease's senior guaranteed debentures (GECL087A) as they have matured.
