In 2007, Victoire de Castellane escorted Dior Fine Jewellery to the unexplored shores of Belladone Island - an imaginary island where the Belladonna flower blossoms. The inspiration for this collection is botanical, with the names of fabulous and timeless plants. They suggest an imaginary ancestral garden and the magic formulae of spellbinding elixirs and potions.
Each of the 17 pieces in the Belladone Island collection by Dior Fine Jewellery writes the scenario of its own special world, a story which is secretly nourished by she who wears it.
This year, Milly Carnivora, the new fine jewellery collection designed by Victoire de Castellane, was unveiled to the world at the Biennale des Antiquaires international art exhibition in Paris last month.
Eight new varieties of carnivorous flowers born on Belladone Island have blossomed and now are flourishing in Dior's Joaillerie's extraordinary garden: Ancolia, Carnivora Devorus, Chardonus, Egratigna, Epinosa, Feuillus Carnivora, Mangatus and Poisonus.
Consisting of 24 pieces in lacquer and coloured stones as well as 13 pieces in spangled lacquer and diamonds, this collection will be launched in Dior boutiques next month. RT
