Residents move out of apartment block
Residents have moved out of an apartment in Khlong Luang district after the body of a woman was found floating in a water tank yesterday.
Residents at the Patcharin apartments on Soi Thai Thani 31 found the body after noticing their tap water started to smell bad.
Kamtong Kamrae, 38, said: "The water started to smell two days ago, but I thought it had something to do with the tanks and the pipes. But the smell became stronger so a group of residents and I went to check the tanks."
They were shocked when they opened one 2,000-litre water tank atop the four-storey apartment and found a black plastic bag with human organs sticking out.
Police were called. They said the bag contained the body of a woman, aged 30-35 and about 150cm tall, with a white T-shirt tied tightly around her throat.
She wore a spaghetti strap tank-top and camouflage shorts. She also wore white, green and orange plastic bracelets.
Police said the body bore no bruises and she probably died three days ago.
Police did not find any identifying papers. The body was taken to Thammasat Hospital.
Residents confirmed the dead woman did not live there. Apartment owner Somporn Satsue, 49, said 21 residents moved out of the 31-room apartment yesterday after the body was found.
"It is their right. I can only remove the water tanks and replace the pipes. I will also invite monks to bless the building," she said.
