CHIRAYU NA RANONG

WELL, THIS JUST ABOUT CHANGES EVERYTHING! The furious charge launched by fans of Phu Khum Khao Dinosaur Museum, pulling in a massive 6000+ votes this past week, tearing right through the 10,000-vote mark and surpassing long-time, second-place holder Phu Soi Dao National Park, has caused shock and awe since it puts a whole new slant on things. To recap: Just a couple of months ago Phu Khum Khao wasn't even in the upper half of the polls, much less the top nine. And if you've been following the progress of our rankings in recent months you'll be aware that the two leading candidates, Phu Soi Dao and Si Satchanalai National Park had built up what we'd assumed was an insurmountable lead on the rest. The ability of the dinosaur museum to attract more than 10,000 votes in the last couple of weeks shows that every single candidate is just one (ridiculously crazy) surge of votes away from being a serious contender.

BY THE TIME WE WENT TO PRESS THIS week, 11 candidates had racked up over 1,000 votes, with one more lurking very close to that milestone. And after fighting tooth and nail for weeks to remain in the top nine, Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao has finally been knocked out. Not by Pai or Moo Ko Similan Marine National Park - two candidates which have been on the cusp for what seems like forever - but by a surprise candidate: Amphawa.

Amphawa made a surge of its own this past week, rising from the teens to 9th place (at time of going to press) and finally wearing down Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao. It only leads by less than a hundred points, however, so don't count the Lampang temple out yet as it has so far proven to have an unlimited number of lives. Either way, we're hoping

the competition manages to sustain this

level of excitement as we get closer to the final stretch.

IT'S GREAT TO SEE OUR COMMUNITY OF webboard visitors being so generous. In the past couple of weeks users have swapped with each other prizes they've won for goodies they felt able to put to a more practical use or, in certain cases, just straight out given stuff away to people who could better employ them. Hope you all keep doing your bit to promote our web site by taking part in our Invite Friends Contest. An Olympus mju 1200 digital camera,

two nights at the Amari Orchid Resort & Tower and a Caggioni travel bag are up for grabs this month.
