Thai fitness drive

TOR CHITTINAND

Thailand boss Peter Reid said he is whipping the national side into shape in Nakhon Ratchasima ahead of next month's AFF Suzuki Cup.

Yesterday, Reid organised a morning training session to test the fitness of his players and he said there was plenty of hard work to come.

"We trained at 11am to see how strong their bodies were," he said.

"The Thai players are used to the sun and then we can train in an evening session for fitness.

"We need that because in the 2-2 draw with Vietnam last weekend, the Thai players lacked stamina and their fitness was not very good. "After the next two weeks, I am sure that every player will be 100% fit."
