HONG KONG : Thailand won the overall title at the Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships in Hong Kong at the weekend. The Thais took home seven golds and three silver medals to clinch the overall title.
The Thai winners were Krit Bhumisirikul in the men's 65kg junior bodybuilding, Somkid Sumethowetchakul in the men's 65kg bodybuilding, Pala Meechai in the men's masters, Wanchai Kanchanapimai in the men's fitness, Apiporn Chomsomboon in the women's 55kg bodybuilding and Roontawan Jindasing in the women's 160cm fitness. Roontawan also won the Miss Fitness crown.
Pakpong Kriangsak, president of the Thailand Bodybuilding Association, praised the Thai athletes.
He also said he would like them to train harder to bring more success to the country in upcoming events including the World Fitness Championships in Spain, the inaugural Asian Beach Games in Indonesia and the 2009 World Games in Taiwan.
