Widely regarded as one of the most difficult swings to make in golf - that long fairway bunker shot is dreaded by many.
Why? Because the swing has to be perfect to strike the ball cleanly and to get some distance.
Anything a little bit fat will result in one of the most frustrating shots in golf.
There's no worse feeling than putting lots of effort into a shot and then achieving a pathetic result!
It's important to try and keep the lower half of your body as stable and calm as you can. Slipping during the downswing is the most common fault which can lead to the most dismal of shots.
Try this next time you find yourself in a fairway bunker.
Stand to the ball normally, then turn your toes in a little bit and you will be surprised at how this little change will help in keeping those unnecessary lower body movements under control.
Don't forget to hold the club a little more down the grip to allow and compensate for your shoes sinking down into the sand.
