Centel to move Samui resort to new fund

Central Plaza Hotel Plc (Centel) plans to set up a new property fund for its Central Samui Beach Resort.

Ronnachit Mahuttanapreut, senior vice-president for finance and administration, said the board approved the establishment of the Fund for Leasehold of Immovable Property, Hotels and Resorts in the Centara Group.

Once the fund is set up, the company would lease Central Samui Beach Resort and facilities to the fund for 30 years at a cost of 1.82 billion baht.

Prior to the lease, the hotel firm would buy back the buildings and facilities of the Samui property from Thai Pattana Fund 1 for 1.7 billion baht.

Centel shares closed yesterday on the Stock Exchange of Thailand at 6.05 baht, unchanged, in trade worth 5.7 million baht.
