Combined expertise

Founded in November 1999, Outokumpu Hitachi Copper Tube (Thailand) Ltd.'s parent companies are world leaders in copper products production and technology and have production facilities in Europe, Asia and America.

OHCT began manufacturing high-quality seamless copper tubes for the air-conditioning and refrigeration (ACR) industry on 1 November 1999. Today, with a total work force of almost 300 people, the company has the capacity to produce 12,000 tonnes of products annually, 60 per cent of which are for the domestic market, while approximately 40 per cent are exported to other parts of Asia and the Middle East.

OHCT's high-quality copper tubes are specially designed for the air-conditioning, refrigeration and heat transfer industries.

For OHCT, high quality is the company's ultimate goal. The company’s products benefit from a combination of the best of technologies: the Cast and Roll™ process from Outokumpu and the Thermofin™ inner-grooved copper tubes from Hitachi Cable.

The Cast and Roll™ process

OHCT uses the Cast and Roll™ process for the production of smooth tubes of high quality, including the specialised thin-wall ACR tubes.

OHCT smooth tubes are used in the air-conditioning and refrigeration industries and the installation of ACR, as well as other heat exchangers and many other applications.

The Thermofin™ inner-grooved tube process

Thermofin™ tubes with inner-grooves are used in both room and unitary air-conditioners. Due to their ingenious design, they both save energy and allow for more compact air-conditioners. Moreover, its condensation performance has also become an issue, with the rapid increase in the use of heat pump air-conditioners.

OHCT also focusses on the quality of its human resources. Extensive training programmes, both in Thailand and abroad, are provided to further develop the skills of each employee.
