Building for the future
Bangkok Bank was established in 1994, in response to the need for a truly Thai banking service for local Thai companies. After its establishment, Bangkok Bank has grown and developed, and within a short period of time, was able to offer a wide range of banking services, including trade finance and foreign exchange. Soon, it became a dominant player in Thailand’s business community, and earned the reputation as the Thai bank used by all leading Thai companies.

Today, Bangkok Bank is not only known as Thailand’s largest commercial bank, but also as one of the leading banks in the Southeast Asian region as well.

Serving the Thai people
The success of Bangkok Bank is attributed to several factors, which include the quality of its services, its willingness to introduce banking innovation, and its emphasis and premium on providing satisfaction to customers. Bangkok Bank now has more than 12 million account holders and a full range of retail and commercial banking services.

Its commercial services include trade financing, project financing, custodial service and debt securities underwriting, as well as specialist industry advice and syndicated loan management services.

In addition to having the most extensive ATM network in Thailand, Bangkok Bank has the largest market share in the express banking sector. It provides a world-class Phone Banking Center and Internet banking services, and has more than 600 branches throughout the country. Extended banking hours are available through the bank’s extensive Microbranch network in high-density areas like superstores, shopping centres, universities, malls and office and business areas. With more than 80 Microbranches, Bangkok Bank now has the largest banking network in Thailand. For business customers, the bank has also opened nearly 80 business centres and over 100 business desks manned by managers that provide business and advisory services.

The winning approach
Bangkok Bank is guided by the principle of partnership, as reflected in the bank’s close customer relationships. This has enabled Bangkok Bank to be able to build the strong reputation that it enjoys today.

The bank’s enduring reputation in the sector is highlighted by the numerous awards it has received over the years. For the year 2003, Bangkok Bank has been given the following accolades:
• Best Bank in Thailand – Euromoney
• Best Debt House – AsiaMoney
• Best Foreign Exchange Bank – Global Finance
• Best Bank – Global Finance
• Top Rating for Bangkok Bank’s securities services – Global Custodian Journal

In the future, Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited intends to continuously improve its services by using the most up-to-date technology and employing the best people. This is in line with the company’s goal to maintain its position as “Thailand’s Favourite Bank”.
