A leading producer of
electrical appliances

Hitachi Consumer Products (Thailand) Ltd. (HCPT) was established on 1 November 1970 under the name U.E.I. Hitachi Co., Ltd. Later, the company became a joint venture between Hitachi Ltd., Hitachi Home and Life Solutions, Inc. of Japan, and changed its name to Hitachi Consumer Products (Thailand) Ltd.

HCPT employs state-of-the-art technology in its production process, strongly backed by advanced technology from Japan, courtesy of its joint-venture firms. With a registered capital of 1,236 million baht, the company produces standard household electrical appliances under the 'Hitachi' brand. Forty per cent of its products are distributed locally, while the rest are for export. The company has a current annual production capacity of 3,030 units.

For over 32 years, the company has continued to grow in parallel with the development of Thailand. Striving to become the leader in the electrical appliance industry, Hitachi has now become synonymous to convenient lifestyle, high quality and reliability.

Steady growth
As peoples’ lifestyles improved and developed, so did Hitachi’s products. The company has been continuously increasing its production capacity and acquiring advanced technology since 1988. In 2001, HCPT was able to supply the market with more electrical products, including washing machines, shower heaters, bread makers, vacuum cleaners, air-conditioners and videos.

To meet the ever-growing demand, the company built another factory at Kabin Buri Industrial Zone in Prachin Buri Province, doubling the production capacity of the plant in Samut Prakan. The Kabin Buri plant produces washing machines, electric fans, rice cookers, water pumps, shower heaters and small motors.

Inspiring the next
Adhering to Hitachi’s philosophy of sincerity, harmony and pioneering spirit, HCPT contributes to the society by serving as a technology transfer channel. The company strives to meet the ever-changing requirements of customers and continues to research and develop more advanced technology to manufacture the products of the future. The company has met the stringent requirements of international quality standards, such as JIS (1990), ISO 9002 from BVQI (1998), ISO 14001 from BVQI (1999) and ISO 9001 from BVQI (2003).

Superior services for customers
HCPT has established more than 70 service centres throughout the country, offering superior service for customers. Its nationwide networking system enables the company to answer the needs of customers more promptly and effectively. Not only does the company has well trained and highly experienced technicians at each service centre, but it has also installed the latest computerised information technology to help facilitate service.
