A distinguished name for
vacuum salt products

Thai Refined Salt Co., Ltd. (TRS) is a distinguished name in the processing, packing and distribution of vacuum salt products. The company is a joint venture between Thai shareholders, the Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. of Japan, and Solvay et Cie of Belgium. Pimai Salt Co., Ltd. is TRS’ sole supplier of salt, and it is TRS’ function to further process, pack and distribute the finished products to the domestic market, as well as to customers all over the Asia-Pacific region.

Thai Refined Salt Co., Ltd. has been producing this basic element of life from its plant in Phimai in Nakhon Ratchasima for many years. It is now the most advanced salt plant in Asia.

Backed by the latest in modern technology and machinery, TRS is able to produce clean, vacuum salt of the world standard for use in the industrial and household sectors.

Boasting a production capacity of one million tonnes a year, the production facility is Thailand’s first standardised salt manufacturing plant, Asia’s most advanced plant.

Making life’s basic essential
TRS takes pride in producing one of life’s basic essentials — clean, vacuum salt of world standards — used in various industries, including dyeing, animal feed, food and resin regenerating, etc. TRS’s salt products, comprising dried salt (with 0.15% moisture content) and undried salt (with 2.5% moisture content), are available. The company currently supplies:
• Industrial salt under “TRS” brand, which meets the requirements of the FAO/WHO Food Standard, is commonly used in food industries worldwide.
• Table and cooking salt are produced for various markets under the company’s own brands and customers’ lables. Iodised table and cooking salt, distributed domestically under the famous brand names “Prung Thip” and “Tipp Salt”, have become the brand leader for premium quality salt in the market.

A focus on quality
The company has implemented many training schemes for its employees as well as the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), helping ensure that Thai Refined Salt will still remain the first choice of customers for many years to come.

Apart from establishing, maintaining and developing its current working system, TRS strives to provide the best salt products for its valued customers. As such, quality objectives are drawn and implemented, including:
• To concentrate on zero-customer complaints
• To emphasis on-time product delivery
• To ensure zero-mishandling in the production process
• To enhance human resource efficiency by regularly conducting training programmes
