An established company
Sun Metal Co., Ltd. (SMC) took its first steps in 1991, when the company was officially registered. Two years later, in order to cope with the ever-increasing product demand, the company established a 13-rai, 355-million-baht factory in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Located in BOI Zone 3, the company was, therefore, granted BOI promotional privileges.

A triumphant celebration
For SMC, 2003 marks a momentous achievement in its glorious history. The company’s 12th anniversary and ISO 9001:2000 certification are, without doubt, a successful and outstanding achievement. Not only are they proof of the company’s continuous development in manufacturing steel rolling shutters, steel doors, fire resistant doors and shutters for Thailand’s diversified industrial sector, but they are also evidence of its firm commitment to the principle of excellent quality.

SMC’s products are manufactured with advanced technology, intended to provide efficient and reliable merchandise, ensuring customers’ specific requirements are met every time.

SMC has an extensive product range, from steel doors, clear shutters, pipe shutters, high-speed vinyl shutters and light-weight shutters, to advanced fire-resistant shutters and heavy-weight shutters. The company’s state-of-the-art steel doors, fire-resistant shutters and heavy-weight shutters, are being used in numerous foreign international airports, such as:

SMC’s relentless strive for perfection has also persuaded many major domestic companies to include SMC’s products in their own projects. The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) is one of many that have trusted Sun Metal with the job of providing high-quality stainless steel shutters. MRTA used these shutters for the north zone entrance of each of its underground stations.

Technology excellence
To maintain a technological edge above its competitors, the company uses the latest computerised systems and machinery in its operations. The CNC Turret Punch Press and Automatic Roll Forming machine, for instance, is a computerised mechanical device, designed specifically to punch holes into materials to form standardised SMC shapes with accurate precision, leaving out any margins of error that might be caused by humans. The company also boasts a state-of-the-art colour coating room as well as many other ingenious devices, designed to make operations run smoother and reduce human error.
