Showing
the way with sanitaryware
As the economy improves, more people are turning to home-improvements
as a means to enjoy their money and add to their net worth.
The first rooms we normally turn to are the bathrooms and
kitchen – arguably the two most important rooms in the house.
And that is
why increasing numbers of people are
turning to Kohler.
Kohler fits out bathrooms and kitchens with fixtures
that are both elegant and luxurious –turning them into
the rooms of our dreams.
Known as a world leader in kitchen and bathroom fixtures,
Kohler Co. started small back in 1873, when John Michael
Kohler purchased the Sheboygan Union Iron and Steel Foundry
and started producing cast iron and steel tools for farmers.
Over the years, Kohler Co. has become hugely successful
in international markets and has an exemplary reputation
to prove it. With unrivalled innovative designs, skilful
craftsmanship and advanced technology, the company is
justly acknowledged as a market leader in sanitaryware
and one of the leading kitchen and bathroom brands.
The company is currently engaged in four main business
groups: kitchens and bathrooms; interiors; power systems;
hospitality; and real estate. Manufactured in 44 factories
worldwide, Kohler Co.’s high-quality products serve a
range of prestigious customers in the U.S.A., many countries
in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
Kitchens and bathrooms
Kohler’s core business, the company’s kitchen and bathroom
lines, includes: faucets, bathtubs, toilets, sinks and
kitchen products. Such products are distributed not
only under the KOHLER trademark, but also such brand
names as Sterling, Kallista, Robern and Canac in North
America; Mira, Jacob Delafon and Sanijura in Europe;
and Englefield in Australia and Asia.
Kohler in Thailand
Taking advantage of the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (AFTA)
and increasing potential in the sector, Kohler started
its Thailand operation in 2002 by purchasing 100 per
cent of the shares of Karat Sanitaryware Public Company
Limited, a well established sanitaryware manufacturer.
The company’s name was duly changed to Kohler (Thailand)
Public Company Limited.
With 3,000 employees in the new entity, Kohler (Thailand)
Public Company Limited markets its products separately
under two brands: Kohler and Karat. The Kohler brand is
targeted at the high-end market, while the Karat label
is geared towards the medium to low-end sector.
Kohler (Thailand) Public Company Limited currently boasts
six production plants, located in Saraburi Province, on
an area of approximately 800,000 square metres. The plants
have a total production capacity of 54,000 tonnes per
year, making the company the largest sanitaryware manufacturer
in Asia. To optimise capacity and increase productivity,
the company is already in the process of planning its
seventh plant. Expected to double the company’s production
capacity, the expansion reflects the company’s commitment
to provide high-quality sanitaryware to customers all
over the globe.
To create greater confidence and satisfaction among its
customers, Kohler (Thailand) Public Company Limited also
provides effective after-sales services. The company’s
after-sales service team comprises engineers who are experts
in installing and maintaining sanitaryware.
