Thirty years ago, the opening of the Royal
Cliff Terrace Hotel marked the beginning of
an epoch that would see the resort grow from a small hotel into
an award-winning luxury holiday destination, with four hotels,
over
1,000 rooms, and a world-class multipurpose Pattaya Exhibition
and Convention Hall (PEACH). The resort, beloved by locals and
international travellers alike, has achieved
a great deal over the past three decades and
has been presented with many awards and accolades.
History in the making
Not content with providing happy holiday memories for thousands
of guests, the Royal Cliff Beach Resort has also hosted many
important regional meetings, including ASEAN conferences over
the years. In 1991, the resort played host to the Cambodian
Peace talks and in 1997, the hotel was the venue for the drafting
of the new Thai Constitution.
The Royal Cliff Beach Resort’s reputation
as a world-class venue for meetings and conventions was acknowledged
once again last year, when it hosted the APEC tourism forum.
Continuous success
The last five years have seen the Royal Cliff Beach Resort
surpass its past successes and achievements by expanding,
refurbishing and offering a wider range of services to guests
that have made it even more popular with visitors from all
over the world.

At the Royal Cliff Beach Resort, every guest is valued and

winning many prestigious awards over the past 30 years. In
2002 alone, it received the following awards:
Top Environment Award
Awarded by the Thai Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment,
the Environmental Impact Award 2002 recognises the resort’s
commitment to keeping the environment pristine. The resort
was the first in the nation to be certified with ISO 14001
and implements several environmentally-friendly programmes
on an ongoing basis.
Best Meetings and Conventions Award
TTG Asia, the respected travel publication, voted the Royal
Cliff Beach Resort the “Best Meetings and Conventions Hotel”
in the Asia Pacific region. This is a tribute to the resort’s
outstanding range of meeting facilities, friendly service
and the world-class Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall
(PEACH).
Royal Wing and Spa, Best in Asia Pacific
Within a few months of its refurbishment, the Royal Wing and
Spa was awarded The Mark of Excellence Award 2002 from Summit
Hotels and Resorts. The managing director of Summit praised
the impressive improvements and additions that have been made
to the
“5-star plus” hotel.
Award for Outstanding Performance
The Royal Cliff Beach Resort was honoured with the award for
outstanding performance under the Best Resort Accommodation
category for the second consecutive year. The award is aimed
at promoting sustainable tourism, while conserving the environment
and Thailand’s rich cultural heritage.
Ultimate Service Award 2004 for Asia
The Ultimate Service Award is an independent initiative that
began in 2000 in partnership with CNN Partner Hotels, American
Express, TNS Hospitality and Leisure, Octopus Travel.com,
Qatar Airways and Villeroy & Boch. It is the first global
award that recognises this level of excellence in service.
