World-class wiring harnesses
As an offshoot of Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd. and Sumitomo Wiring Systems Ltd., SEWS-Components (Thailand) Ltd.
(SEWS-CT) understands and abides by
the Sumitomo culture of excellence.
The company’s passion for quality, which
is embraced by every employee, reflects Sumitomo’s principles and beliefs.

SEWS-CT started life in 1996 as a component division within Sumitomo Electric Wiring System (Thailand) Ltd. (SEWT). As the automobile industry’s demand for wiring harnesses increased, the need to produce wiring harness components also intensified. Thus, SEWS-Components (Thailand) Ltd. was established in May 2002 with the objective of supplying the growing market. The company’s objective was to manufacture and sell wiring harness components to its parent companies in Japan, as well as to other Sumitomo affiliated companies throughout the ASEAN region. After receiving invaluable technology transfers and technical assistance from the parent company, SEWT-CT was able to produce a complete range of wiring harness components via a highly sophisticated computerised production process.

Productive plant
SEWS-CT’s 8,829-square-metre plant, located on 26,630 square metres of land, is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and is currently capable of producing 25 million connectors per month. The factory, situated in Amata City Industrial Estate, a BOI promotional zone, sits between Laem Chabang Port and Bangkok.

As safety is of prime concern at SEWS-CT, regulations and precautions set by the government are considered a top priority.
The factory is designed to protect employees from job-related accidents, while providing a comfortable working environment.

With 500 employees operating 237 tools and 81 moulding machines, SEWS-CT is ready to forge into the future, with the knowledge that it has the right technology and the right facilities to take the company to new levels.

Performance excellence
In realising that current-day suppliers need to achieve excellence in all aspects, the company provides utmost customer satisfaction, with an emphasis on cost, quality product development, on-time delivery, effective management systems and continuous innovation. Furthermore, the company recognises the value of its human resources. Training and promotion schemes are offered to upgrade skills and improve the employees’ quality of life, as well as to promote better relationships between co-workers.

Products made to please
For SEWS-CT, achieving greater precision for minute electronic circuitry is a topic of vital importance. The company takes pride in providing components designed with up-to-date mechanical engineering. The components that make up the wire harnesses from
SEWS-CT are constantly being subjected to new developments and improvements, with all efforts geared towards making assembly even easier. The hi-performance connectors, developed by the company to support automotive electronics, have earned widespread recognition as an indispensable part of modern car making. Fifty per cent of SEWS-CT’s products are distributed to the parent company in Japan, while the rest go to Sumitomo’s affiliated companies in Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Sumitomo Electric Wiring System (Thailand) Limited (SEWT).

Pursuit of excellence
Always in pursuit of excellence, SEWS-CT has adopted TS 16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards to ensure strict compliance with the highest management, environmental and health and safety standards.
