Thailand’s automobile sector has enjoyed significant growth
in recent years. Domestic sales of new vehicle have risen higher
than ever before, among the leading companies. Behind the success
of these automotive makers is Thai Marujun Co., Ltd. – one of
the leading manufacturers of car body parts in Thailand.
Established in July 1994 at the Saha Rattana Nakorn Industrial
Estate, Ayutthaya, Thai Marujun Co., Ltd. specialises in producing
fuel tanks and lids, front roof rails, site seals, centre
pillars, and hood and trunk hinges,
as well as many other body parts and frames for major automobile
companies in Thailand.
In recent years, the company has also ventured into manufacturing
audio/visual components for VCRs and slide projectors.

Innovative inventions
Thai Marujun currently works with a three-stage production
line – for pressing, welding and painting. To satisfy increased
demand by making production faster and more efficient, the
company has invented three revolutionary new machines:
• 120-kilogramme Front Bumper Beam
To produce automotive front bumper beams in countries such
as the United States or Japan, a roll forming line is used
to punch-press high tension metal. In Thailand, however, no
roll forming lines are available. And so Thai Marujun got
together with a group of Thai specialists and machine manufacturers
and set out to find an alternative. In their search, they
found that by using a modified traditional metal puncher,
they were able to produce the bumper beams from high-tension
metal. It was an ingenious solution, as products made from
high-tension metal are four times lighter than those made
from standard metal. This makes them more flexible, resilient
and apt to stay in one piece during bumper-to-bumper collisions.
The company went on to patent this important invention.
• Three-in-one Punch-Press Machine
Another ingenious invention by Thai Marujun is the Three-in-one
punch-press Machine. In the production of fuel lids, most
local companies connect the three jigs by welding them together
with heat – a time-consuming and costly process. Thai Marujun’s
creative team decided to search for a more efficient method.
The result was the three-in-one punch-press which has also
been patented. This innovative device is capable of instantly
connecting the three jigs via the punch-press process common
in standard metal punchers, without the need for time-consuming
traditional welding procedures.
• Press Transfer
Last but not least, Thai Marujun invented the Press Transfer.
This time-saving, resource efficient and cost effective machine
is able to punch-press metal and other parts of a product
made from different materials in one go and at a rapid rate.
