Thai Polyphosphate & Chemicals Co., Ltd. (TPC) is a subsidiary
of the Aditya Birla Group of India. It is currently the leading
manufacturer of Sodium Phosphate in the world.
Commissioned in 1984 to produce POLYPHOS (Sodium Tripolyphosphate),
TPC has over the years, enhanced capacity through debottlenecking
by more than 100%, and earned a reputation as being one of
the most efficient and reliable suppliers of high-quality
Sodium Phosphates.
TPC leads the way
TPC was the first manufacturer of Sodium Phosphates in the
Asia-Pacific to be ISO 9000 – certified for its quality management
systems, and the first Sodium Phosphate manufacturer in the
world to be accredited with the ISO 14001. Constant upgrading
of technology has also enabled the company to receive the
prestigious Prime Minister’s Industry Award
for outstanding performance in environmental conservation.
Additional achievements include: An award for Consistent TPM
Excellence For Commitment (1st category); TIS 18001; SAP software
implementation; and The Thailand Quality Prize 2004 and Best
Supplier Awards from multinationals viz, Unilever and Colgate-
Palmolive for last 10 years.
TPC’s enviable record of manufacturing excellence and quality
management remains unmatched in the Southeast Asian region.
Another milestone achievement for the company is its receipt
of the prestigious
Total Productivity Management (TPM) Award – First Category,
from Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance. This made TPC the
first Sodium Phosphate manufacturer in the world to receive
the highly coveted TPM Excellence Award.

Product profile
TPC phosphates are mainly used as meat and seafood preservatives,
leavening in bakery products, emulsifiers and stabilisers
in dairy products and builders in detergents. TPC phosphates
are also used in the manufacture of animal feeds, toothpaste,
textile dyes, starches and ceramic tiles. They are also used
in water and metal treatment, and as stabilisers in chemical
processes.
Currently, the company exports 20% of its products to such
countries as Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea.
Indonesia is another major export destination, along with
other countries in the Southeast Asian region.

Increasing production capacity and making additional investments
