At 27, Daniel Chong has already gained the kind of success only a few locally-groomed fashion designers could ever achieve. He has won an impressive array of awards, including the Most Promising Designer and The Best Evening Wear from the Malaysia International Fashion Award in 2004, the Martell Rising Personalities and the Rise Above Personality Award in 2007 - which have set the stage for his bourgeoning fashion career. He is well-known for his silk and satin drapings, three-dimensional embellishment, sculptural forms and seamless cutting, all of which allow for comfort. Daniel Chong sat down with "Muse" the morning after his first ever show in Bangkok during Bangkok International Fashion Week (BIFW).
