Freshen up your home with potted plants

SAKESIT NONTAJIT

Greenery around the house may provide much needed relief, especially because modern day living is much like being in a concrete jungle.

The addition of verdure through home and garden decorations could provide us the relaxation, shades, coolness, freshness, comfort to the eyes and a sense of freedom.

Gardening has many particular details but it could be categorised broadly into two groups. The first is the direct planting into the soil with the allocation of landscape as prime consideration. The second is the "prop table" arrangement of potted plants, which is particularly suitable for small areas or for areas where you may not want a permanent garden.

Gardening is not difficult. It can be tailored to your needs and imagination, while helping you to relax and freshen up. Once the garden is complete, you will also gain satisfaction and pride, as well as the fun of selecting plants for the garden. Gardening also allows you to turn your free time into something beneficial.

You may try to garden with potted plants, starting with identifying the area you wish to change, such as the bathroom. Even a small, empty alley could easily be turned into a small garden. This is a unique characteristic of gardening with potted plants.

The arrangement of potted plants is easy. Use tall plants as a background and arrange short ones in the front. You can also select plants that are easy to care for and hardy such as plants with colourful leaves, which are easy on the eyes. You will also gain confidence and new experiences when you do the gardening yourself, which is not something you will gain from reading textbooks. However, this is up to individual tastes and suitability of the arrangement. If there is anything missing, you may adjust or add more plants.

Palms and shade plants are popular choices for prop table gardening as their leaves are beautiful, some of which have multicoloured patterns with white and yellow stripes. In an appropriate spot, they could build a contrasting colouration with green leaves of other plants and could give a freshness that is different from the garden with only all-green plants. The use of white flowers here and there could also make your area more relaxing to look at and easily provide a different rhythm in gardening.

You should have a rough layout plan before starting the prop table. Be aware of the spaces and differences of plant heights as well as the density of bushes. Also remind yourself of the size of the area.

Non-plants accessories could also add more colour to your garden. Placing of clayware like pottery and figures or river pebbles and coloured stones in the right positions could be the technique you need to create a garden with an unusual charm.

If you are one of those who enjoy walking in the garden in the night or prefer garden parties after the sunset, you will want to use lighting as backgrounds for the garden and path lights to show the walkway.

The prop table gardening or gardening with potted plants is considered less complicated than direct gardening. The most important thing, however, is the care of the plants, such as trimming, to keep your garden constantly fresh. You will also need to refill soil and fertiliser in the pots once they have depleted and water the plants as much as they need.

Your green area will provide freshness and add more pure air to your home, without the need of air purifiers.
