Fixing a leaking roof

Does the roof of your house have a leakage due to the prolonged exposure to heat and rain?

RATCHOT CHOMPUNICH

If so, here are some tips to fix the problem. In order to build a flat roof that does not leak and does not absorb the heat, you should begin with the design of the building. If the building has a wide rooftop and the concrete filling is not done at once, there is a chance of leakage. Similar different levels of slopes that are far from each other will also pose difficulties in filling the concrete.

The rooftop should be only as wide as necessary.

Tips on leakage prevention:

- The concrete must be filled all at once. Do not use expired concrete. Mix the concrete with anti-leakage chemical. The rooftop must have some slope and an adequate water draining system.

- Do not use a readymade roof.

- If there is a problem in construction, install a leakage prevention system.

- If the problem still persists, build a roof to cover the area. However, check the building structure and related laws before doing this.

Tips on heat prevention:

- Add a sandwich layer of solar slab to the floor.

- Install insulation to the attic ceiling.

- Apply insulation made from special materials such as vapour barrier and aerated autoclaved concrete.

- Also cover the area with a roof if the problem is too much.
