HUMAN RESOURCES
Where people arerecognised as the heart
of the company
— the heart of all we do
.

It was a busy year for the Human Resources Department as additional people were brought in to set up and develop an efficient operation for the company’s new Thai-language business daily Post Today, launched in February 2003. HR efforts had to be doubled, with the department providing welfare benefits to an increased number of staff, ensuring that they receive fair treatment in accordance with their rights, and also keeping them informed of the company’s regulations.

A survey conducted at the end of 2002 helped determine the areas of training needed. Following this, a number of courses were organised by the Training and Development Section and held continually throughout the year.

The Training and Development Section also played host to many school and university students, who came on visits to the Post.

With people as its prime concern, The Post Publishing Plc. continuously organised staff activities throughout the year, including an annual company-wide health check-up.

As in previous years, a special tum bun tak bart merit-making ceremony was also held to mark
the Bangkok Post’s birthday on 1 August. Management and staff relaxed and enjoyed the annual Family Day trip, which was to Si Racha Tiger Zoo in Amphoe Sattahip.

Also held in 2003 was a farewell party for retiring employees and a long-service award party at The Dusit Thani Bangkok for those who have dedicated 25 years to the Bangkok Post. The end of the year was marked by an all-fun party, filled with dazzling performances, and plenty of food and laughter.
