Silpakorn University will celebrate Silpa Bhirasri Day on September 15 with various art activities as a tribute to the great master who laid a solid foundation for contemporary art in Thailand.
The opening of the 118th anniversary of Silp Bhirasri at Silpakorn University, Wang Tha Phra campus, will be presided over by former prime minister Chuan Leekpai. It will be followed by a keynote speech by National Artist Angkarn Kanlayanapong who will focus on the works of the late Fua Haripitak, one of Ajarn Silpa's favourite students, in restoring mural paintings at ancient sites in Ayutthaya and Sukhothai.
