Gleaming new showcase for Israeli art

When the doors to the $55 million (1.72 billion baht) addition to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art opened last month, critics from across the globe hailed it as Israel's newest international landmark.

The striking, five-storey building of concrete and glass is an artistic masterpiece itself, let alone the 1,718m2 of gallery space inside, which now houses one of the world's best collections of Israeli art. The inaugural installation, The Museum Presents Itself: Israeli Art from the Museum Collection, includes some 250 works.
