To navigate a viewer between walls, space, films, photographs, objects and sounds, at once watching, listening, feeling, is what visual artist and film-maker Apichatpong Weerasethakul does, often masterfully. On a cold, hazy night in Beijing, earlier this month, For Tomorrow for Tonight opened at the Ullens Centre for Contemporary Art (UCCA) in the 798 art district. Previously installed at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin, it will continue at the UCCA until February. It is Apichatpong's first show in China and has been allocated a space of its own at the Beijing venue at which several other shows are currently underway.

It is also the last group show for outgoing curator Jerome Sans, the end of an era as the UCCA prepares to take a new direction with Phil Tanari at the helm.
