Homosexuality seen in pixels

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

100 Tonson Gallery presents "Pixel Horizon", which showcases new works by Montri Toemsombat, a contemporary Thai artist whose distinctive style has won him recognition at the national and international level.

Drawing inspiration from personal experience, Montri's latest collection reveals his most intimate thoughts yet. Born and raised by liberal parents, Montri has been blessed with a privilege that allowed him to embrace his homosexuality ever since he was young.

This exhibition presents his views on disruptive issues caused by social structure through a pixel manipulation technique previously seen in his digital photography work "Nanothailand", which exhibited at 100 Tonson Gallery and the 13th Jakarta Biennale in 2008.

Heavily inspired by the effect of homosexuality on society and culture, the exhibition intends to create awareness and cultivate knowledge about the crucial subject among individuals, society and beyond.
