A photojournalistic first for bangkok

A festival focusing on photojournalism and documentary photography is being held for the first time in Thailand. "Stream Photo Asia" opens at CentralWorld today and is scheduled to run until March 8.

The core of the festival is the prestigious World Press Photo Exhibition, the fruits of an annual competition for photojournalists which actively promotes such values as democracy and freedom of the press. The exhibition has gone on display in more than a hundred cities around the world, but this is the first time it has ever come to Southeast Asia.

There will be daily guided tours of the exhibition plus a challenging and enjoyable hands-on educational programme for youngsters that will make use of digital photography and smart phones.
