My week with Marilyn

(Premiered Jan 12)

Although this year marks the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's death, fans continue to be mesmerised by the life of the blonde bombshell. Another chapter in her fascinating story is documented in this drama, which centres on Monroe's 1956 trip to Britain to film The Prince and the Showgirl with Sir Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh). Besides Monroe and Olivier's tumultuous work relationship (he called her "the stupidest, most self-indulgent little tart I've ever come across"), the starlet's off-screen dysfunction is also portrayed amazingly by Michelle Williams who plays the iconic sex symbol. An alluring watch that is almost as magnetic as its subject. Directed by Simon Curtis.
