At long last The Artist is heading for these shores. It is due to open in Bangkok on February 23, just days before the ceremony to hand out the Oscars, in which competition this silent French film is a frontrunner to win the Best Picture award.

Please also make sure to free up your calendar so that if you do win one of the prizes you’ll be able to join us at the screening on February 20, which starts at 8pm. The Bangkok Post and Catalyst, the film's Thai distributor, are pleased to offer you the chance to see this much-praised film before any of your friends. A special screening will take place on Monday, February 20, the eve of the official opening, at the Scala cinema in Siam Square (a most fitting venue for a film that evokes nostalgic charm).
