The abused Cinderella was there, as were the mean stepmother and stepsisters, the handsome prince, the fairy godmother and the glass slippers. But that's where the similarity ends.
Cinderella
Cinderella's glass slippers are green, and she throws them across the stage in a temper tantrum. The stepsisters go to the ball in an old jalopy that crashes and the wheels fall off. The fairy godmother is a bit of a dizzy lady, conjuring up fantasy scenes that look as if they came out of Through the Looking Glass, while the prince travels the world through the seasons in dream-like sequences that make you wonder whether he's been on some weird hookah pipe.
