Musical play aims to be inclusive

The award-winning Interact Theatre from the US and Rajanagarinda Institute for Child Development (RICD) in Chiang Mai present a play this weekend where the cast includes people with disabilites.

Entitled Searching for Sanook, the musical play will be staged at Chiang Mai University's Art Museum Theatre on Saturday at 2 and 7pm. The art museum is located at the junction of Suthep and Nimmanhemin roads.

Since last year, Interact's artistic director Jeanne Calvit, known in the US for her pioneering work with people with disability in the field of arts for the past 30 years, has brought a troupe that includes two American actors with Down syndrome to perform with 20 very talented and young but physically handicapped Thais.
