Some music pundits regard Apisit Pongchaisirikul as Thailand's top guitarist of his generation.
And because lead singers traditionally hog the limelight, a few may be surprised that Apisit aka "Eak Blackhead" is the heart and soul of Blackhead, Thailand's premier rock band that has churned out rock ballad hits for almost two decades.
Ever since Blackhead was formed in 1994, a time when Thailand's music scene was immersed in the alternative music trend, Apisit was responsible for song lyrics, arrangement, played composer and producer, and was instrumental behind the success of the band's 20 hits and about 10 albums that have left an indelible mark on the Thai music scene.
