Sounding Satisfactory

The music industry this year, as usual, has hit high and low notes. Let's start off with the low points. Surely, Seksan Sookpimay, or Sek Loso, must have made the top of everyone's list this year because his ongoing drug/spousal abuse/promiscuity/war on his record label scandal is so captivating and depressing at the same time. When a rock god is falling, the downward spiral turns quicker than we can say R-O-C-K.
We, mortals, can only wait and see what will become of the Great Sek Loso and his self-spun, tangled web. Or, if you're already fed up with it, you can also keep watch over Artiwara Kongmalai aka Toon Bodyslam's flabbergasting career of a ping-pong athlete. Sigh. Another option is Sek Loso can audition for the guitarist spot for Slur now that superstar Arak "Pae" Amornsupasiri has split.
The reality singing contest shows have also fallen sideways. There are so many of them on TV that no one can really keep up with the contestants as well as the winners. It has gotten to the point that I wouldn't even know when Academy Fantasia, The Star or KPN among others are in season. The main purpose of these shows are to search for real talent that should win your support and voting money since day one, but, for a while now, it has turned into a charade where good-looking competitors usually triumph. The addition of dramatic back stories is also not really working. You'll have better chances finding star singers queuing up at Krispy Kreme.
