Local hipsters must be excited beyond belief now that The Naked and Famous is coming to town, giving them a chance to scream along to Punching in a Dream and Young Blood among other numbers by the hot property New Zealand band.

Formed out of Mainz Music College in Auckland, New Zealand, Alisa Xayalith, Thom Powers and Aaron Short started dabbling in music together in 2008. First single Young Blood came out in 2010, and made ripples throughout their native country. Debut album Passive Me, Aggressive You shortly followed in the same year.

But the rest of the world caught on to The Naked and Famous when the BBC announced in December 2010 that they'd added the Kiwi outfit to their selected "Sound of 2011" list. Since then, there's been no turning back for the band.
