Of late, there's been a fair share of diverse, interesting international bands playing Bangkok, rather than the usual stadium acts or veteran performers who are on their last world tour... for the 10th time. The Naked and Famous were the latest in line to fulfil the wet dreams of all hipsters when they rolled into town last week.
Having made it onto the BBC's "Sound of 2011" list, The Naked and Famous have already achieved fame beyond the constraints of their native New Zealand. They're young, good-looking and keeping with the musical trends of the year.
Taking cue from the likes of MGMT and Empire of the Sun, The Naked and Famous' debut Passive Me, Aggressive You dabbles in synth pop and electronic rock over chilling vocals and a lot of styles. Undoubtedly more accessible, The Naked and Famous came to the right place at the right time, and the fact that New Zealand-born, Thai-Chinese Alisa Xayalith is cute enough to eat sure helped in propelling the love we have for the band to an even higher level.
